Applications
Transozinc Epoxy Primer 155 is designed for corrosion protection of steel structures in industrial and marine environments.
The product can also be used as a holding primer.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from contamination. Steel surfaces should be treated in accordance with ISO 8504:2000.
For blast-cleaned steel, the recommended preparation is minimum Sa 2½ according to ISO 8501-1:2007. The surface profile and anchor pattern should be between 40 and 70 µm.
For minor repairs and touch-up work, corroded areas can be prepared by power-tool cleaning or water jetting. Power-tool cleaning should be minimum St 2 and preferably St 3.
Application Methods
Transozinc Epoxy Primer 155 can be applied by airless spray, airspray, brush and roller.
- Airless Spray: 140–180 bar nozzle pressure, 0.38–0.53 mm nozzle size
- Airspray: 3–5 bar pressure, 1.2–2.0 mm nozzle size
- Brush / Roller: Suitable for stripe coats and touch-up work only
Mixing and Thinning
Transozinc Epoxy Primer 155 is supplied in two containers as a complete unit consisting of Base (Part A) and Hardener (Part B).
The recommended mixing ratio is Base : Hardener = 88:12 by volume.
The base should first be stirred with a clean mechanical mixer. The entire contents of the curing agent should then be added and mixed thoroughly.
If thinning is required, thinner should only be added after the two components have been mixed.
The recommended thinner and cleaner is Transocean Epoxy Thinner 6.03.

Recoating
For two-pack products, the minimum recoating interval is 16 hours at 10°C, 6 hours at 23°C, and 4 hours at 30°C. The maximum interval is stated as indefinite in the datasheet.
Recoating intervals are provided as guidance and can vary according to local climate and environmental conditions.
Storage and Handling
Store the product in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area away from sources of heat and ignition. Keep containers tightly closed and in their original packaging until required for use.
The product is intended for use by professional applicators. Appropriate protective equipment and adequate ventilation should be used during application.
